The first Audacious Live happened because Ben Franklin was bored. Bored of safe. Bored of beige. Bored of events that left people with a notebook full of ideas and zero shift in how they actually felt.
So he built the room he had always wanted. Raw, electric, a little uncomfortable in the best way. Speakers who told the truth. Conversations that went to places most events never go. A community of people who refused to shrink.
And something shifted. People did not just leave inspired. They left changed. The conversations carried on long after the day ended. The connections turned into collaborations, friendships and in some cases, completely redesigned businesses and lives.
There is a moment Ben still thinks about. Standing at the back of the room partway through the day, watching it all happen, and realising he had created something very special. Not because of what was said on stage, though that mattered. Because of what he saw in the room. People being completely themselves. Connecting because of it, not despite it. That moment is where Spark the Joy actually started, long before it had a name.

I am Ben Franklin. A natural born psychic, though I have always preferred to focus that work alongside business owners rather than anywhere else.
My path here was not a straight line. I spent years in aviation, as a customer service manager and an in charge crew member, before moving into new build property sales. Three decades of corporate life, customer rooms, and sales floors. None of it looked like what I do now. All of it taught me how people really operate when the pressure is on.
Somewhere along the way I started working with successful entrepreneurs privately, helping them tune into their intuition and rebuild their businesses around who they had actually become. And I kept seeing the same thing. Brilliant, successful people sitting alone with the feeling that something was off. The business worked on paper but felt wrong in their body.
Here is the part I do not always say out loud. It happened to me too. I spent years so busy building and performing a role that I lost touch with what actually lit me up. It took stepping back to find my love for singing again, and to realise that speaking on stages and inspiring others to reconnect with their own intuition is not a side thing I do, it is one of the things that brings me the most joy. Somewhere in there I also discovered I genuinely enjoy baking, and growing vegetables from nothing but a seed and some patience.
So Audacious Live is not just a room I built for other people. It is the room I needed. One where business and joy do not have to be two separate conversations. Where I can talk strategy and then go sing something, and nobody finds that strange.

Where exactly is the event?
Audacious Live takes place at The Dragonfly Lounge in Colchester, Essex on 11th February 2027. The VIP Mixer the evening before is also at the Dragonfly Lounge, on 10th February from 7pm.
What is actually happening in the room on the day? What is this joy thing about?
Every speaker shares two things: how they built what they built, and what genuinely brings them joy outside of it. Alongside the stage, expect hands-on joy moments woven through the day itself — think tarot, palmistry, and other ways to reconnect with what lights you up, plus the drag and live performance Audacious Live is already known for. It is not a side track from the business content. It is the other half of it.
Is this still a business event?
Yes, completely. You will leave with clarity, connections and real momentum in your business. The difference is we no longer pretend joy is separate from that. The two build each other.
What time does the day start?
Doors open at 9:30am, with the main event starting at 10am.
Is food provided?
Yes. Lunch is included on the day. If you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know at least one week before the event so we can give the caterers time to prepare properly.
Is there parking at the venue?
The venue sits in a pedestrian area, so parking directly outside is very limited. There are several pay and display car parks within walking distance, so we would recommend planning to park nearby and walk the rest of the way.
What happens between the event ending and the after party starting?
There is a short break between the two. The venue stays open throughout, so you are welcome to grab a bite to eat nearby or order something in, and the bar will be open if you would like a drink while you wait for the after party to begin.
Where should I stay?
We recommend the George Hotel, or the fully accessible St Nicholas Hotel directly across the road. Greyfriars Hotel is a 5 minute walk with a large car park. Contact hotels directly to check availability and any specific accessibility needs.
What is the difference between General Admission and VIP?
General Admission gets you the full day at Audacious Live plus the after party. VIP gets you everything in General Admission plus the VIP Mixer, held the evening before at the Dragonfly Lounge from 7pm, priority seating, and a more intimate experience the night before the main event. If you want to arrive, connect and go deep from the very start, VIP is for you.
What is a table sponsorship?
Table sponsorships are for business owners who want to bring their team or clients and have a branded presence on the day. Audacious Live was built with you in mind. There is a dedicated quiet space with a live stream of the main stage so you can step out and recharge without missing anything. The venue is fully accessible. Many of the speakers are neurodivergent themselves. You will not just be okay there. You will belong there.
